Fauniera 4 Days

This is a self-guided adventure which offers greater flexibility to travelers who want freedom when it comes to travel schedules and trip itineraries.

Colle Fauniera is classified as a long and challenging Alpine climb, for the significant elevation and high altitude with slopes that sometimes exceed 10%. The descent of Colle Fauniera is considered one of the most technical of the Alps.
Fauniera is better known locally as Colle dei Morti – Pass of the Dead. In 1744, French and Spanish soldiers were killed nearby in an ambush by their Savoyard enemies.
On the summit of the Colle di Fauniera there is a monument in memory of Marco Pantani who was the author of a memorable milestone that led him to win the pink jersey in Borgo San Dalmazzo.
